All graduate students and postdocs successfully completing the Certification in College Teaching (CCT) will demonstrate achievement in five teaching competencies.
The CCT is a university-wide certification but a college-based program. Contact your college coordinator to learn more about your college's requirements beyond the university-wide requirements.
All electronic portfolios must contain the following:
- A completed copy of the Certification in College Teaching Portfolio Checklist
- Evidence of your development on each of the five teaching competencies.
- For the first four competencies, you need to:

- describe the competency (in your own words),
- provide an artifact & artifact rationale, and
- interpret/reflect on your learning. (If you attended a CCT Institute, you should have completed these reflections.)

- Competency 1: Complete disciplinary course/coursework on teaching (requirement varies by discipline, see your college’s requirements or inquire with your college coordinator).
- Competencies 2, 3, & 4: Attend workshop(s) or session at the CCT Institute
