The Vera M. Wallach Fellowship for Graduate Students is for Michigan State University graduate students studying wildlife management, wildlife ecology, or natural resource management, or conducting Arctic and Antarctic research, with emphasis on the protection and preservation of wildlife in those regions. Up to two fellowships will be awarded annually. Priority shall be given to students who are citizens or residents of Denmark, or the US, in that order. Scholarships shall not be granted to students who are citizens or residents of other countries unless they agree in writing to return to their country of origin or repay the scholarship. Funds for this award will be distributed during the spring semester after acknowledgment of the award has been received.
Applicant must be:
- Studying wildlife management, ecology, or natural resource management, or conducting Arctic or Antarctic research, with emphasis on the protection and preservation of wildlife in those regions.
- An enrolled graduate student in good standing.
- Citizen or resident of Denmark or the US.

Three Qualtrics forms are required to submit a complete application.
Applicants should complete the student applicant form. In this form, applicants will submit their CV and a 1-page (single spaced) essay. In their essay, the student should describe their thesis or dissertation research objective and its relevance, explain how they will allocate the fellowship funds, and describe how receiving a Fellowship would positively influence them professionally.
Applicants are also required to provide information from two references, one of whom must be the applicant’s advisor.
The student must direct their advisor to submit their response using the Advisor Qualtrics Form.
And the student must instruct their additional reference to submit their responses to the Reference Qualtrics Form.
