Want to learn more about Machine Learning? Free up your calendar on Saturday, October 22 for a free online workshop for Enhancing Undergraduate Research with Machine Learning. Attendees will have the opportunity to observe different projects that have adopted machine learning through this interactive workshop. For those interested in learning more about working in STEM teaching, the Evidence-Based STEM Teaching MOOC and the Inclusive STEM Teaching Project are still available for registration.

Saturday, Oct. 22 | Enhancing Undergraduate Research with Machine Learning

Learn more about machine learning (ML) during this interactive workshop organized by Informatics Skunkworks at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The workshop will feature multiple examples in areas such as chemistry, engineering, physics, and medicine that reinforce ML as a powerful tool. Participants will also have the opportunity to talk with researchers to enhance their research skills in breakout rooms where they can express specific needs.

Thursdays, Oct. 27 | Introduction to Teaching at a Community College

Those beginning their careers in higher education are encouraged to join us for a panel of faculty who will discuss their experiences working in community colleges. Panelists will discuss equity and diversity at community colleges, career trajectories, what they appreciate most about working at community colleges, as well as common misconceptions about the career. Bring your questions and prepare to explore this wonderful career path. No cap.
