Support The Graduate School Emergency Fund

Dear Spartans,

Today is a Global Day of Unity, a chance to support COVID-19 response efforts underway at Michigan State University. More than ever, your generosity now can effect real impact in the lives of Spartans in need.

We ask you to give to The Graduate School Emergency Fund. Your gift will make a difference for the health, safety, and security of our graduate students who are, in so many ways, the heart of MSU.

The economic and public health impacts of the COVID-19 crisis have created uncertainty and precarity among graduate students. Graduate students who have historically relied for financial stability on sources like second jobs or income from a working spouse or partner to cover necessary cost of living have lost those sources of income. Many are even at risk of being unable to afford rent and groceries. Many also have families with young children to support while pursuing their education. Please join us in addressing this challenge.

MSU is home to about 11,000 graduate students, who represent the next generation of groundbreaking scholars, scientists, veterinarians, lawyers, doctors, and educators. The teaching contributions of graduate Teaching Assistants (TA's) touches the trajectory of every student that has gone through MSU and their research contributions fuel the landmark work that makes MSU a top research university.

Please join us in giving today.

Wishing you safety and health, and thanking you for your contribution.

Sincerely,

Meseret Negash
Director of Development
