Carolyn Hurst

Carolyn Hurst is a University Distinguished Fellow at Michigan State University. She is currently pursuing an MS in Forensic Science and a PhD in Anthropology. Carolyn thought as a kindergartener that she would be an archaeologist, but she switched to physical anthropology because she wanted to go further and conduct research that would help people. As a University Distinguished Fellow, Carolyn researches Nubian remains to determine how these medieval individuals lived and what caused their deaths. She has gained valuable teaching experience and has traveled throughout the world as part of her teaching and research assistantships with the Department of Anthropology.

Prior to coming to MSU, Carolyn received a BA in anthropology from the University of Arizona. Carolyn is working with Todd Fenton, PhD. while studying at Michigan State.
