Ifeoma C. Iyioke has a doctorate in educational measurement and quantitative methods and a master’s degree in applied statistics both from Michigan State University (MSU). In her role as a Data Scientist with the Graduate School (TGS), Dr. Iyioke’s responsibilities include working with staff of the MSU Office of Planning and Budgets, and Institutional Research, in reporting and conducting analyses of data from graduate student information systems and survey instruments, such as the Graduate Experiences in Research Universities (GradSERU) and Exit Survey. These analytic efforts ultimately support strategic program assessment and evaluation of impact of the mission of TGS of “creating inclusive cultures and innovative practices to advance humanity and further knowledge.”

Prior to joining TGS, Dr. Iyioke worked as a Research Associate with Project Excellence, a collaborative program evaluation initiative of the MSU Office of Rehabilitation and Disability Studies and the Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS). In this role she was responsible for designing and implementing studies, including writing and presenting technical reports to State leaders on the impact of MRS services to over 40,000 individuals with disabilities each year.

Dr. Iyioke’s general research interests are in educational achievement, attainment, equity, standards-based testing and performance evaluation. She has published peer-reviewed papers and book chapters on substantive topics that include developing critical thinking skills, professional training on standard-setting, and work-based learning.
