Dee Jordan

Dee shares context and motivation behind why she choose the Curious franchise as the media avenue to share her work:

"I am very concerned about early exposure and exposure in general to the discipline of Geography, especially for Black and Brown students. The low number of states offering geography in the K-12 system is disheartening. I feel the lack of early exposure to the discipline is a fundamental driver to the low number of geography majors in college over all, and the even more limited number of URM students to major in the discipline.

The primary audience for Curious About Careers are those in the K-12 system specifically middle and high school. I hope this video opens the door to intellectual curiosity about the discipline and the cool work we do. Moreover, I hope it provides a lens into the professional opportunities in geography. "
