Graduate Students
Background
This fellowship will allow a graduate student to conduct qualitative data analysis and manuscript preparation in collaboration with the Flourish Repro Health Research Lab and the Flourish Community Advisory Board, and possibly other research activities designated by the supervisor. Dr. Emma C. Schlegel will supervise the graduate student. This fellowship, which can be done remotely, involves a commitment to work 10 hours per week for $4,500 award with the College of Nursing faculty.
Eligibility
- MSU graduate student in good standing who will be enrolled in the Spring of 2026.
- Must have completed graduate level qualitative methods course prior to Spring 2026.
- Graduate student interested in qualitative data management, analysis, and interpretation and community engaged research who is willing to learn qualitative coding and analysis techniques, community engaged research principles, and qualitative data interpretation and reporting quickly.
- Strong ability to collaborate with other faculty and student research team members and community members.
- Strong ability to be self-directed and self-motivated.
- An interest in community engaged research methods and/or sexual and reproductive health research is preferred.

The deadline for submission is December 17, 2025. The nurse scientist supervising this position and potentially other team members will review your submitted information. We may also ask letters of recommendation.
Funding of the Award
The award amount for January 5, 2026, to May 15, 2026 is $4,500.
