IIT Call for 2020-21 Applications

The Interdisciplinary Inquiry and Teaching Fellowship Program (IIT) is a partnership between the Michigan State University Graduate School and James Madison Residential College of Public Affairs at Michigan State University.

One of the most pressing issues in higher education today is the preparation of future faculty for undergraduate teaching. As such, graduate education in the 21st century university pushes against traditional notions and expectations, demanding graduate students not only acquire subject matter expertise, but also the ability to translate this knowledge into successful teaching and learning. The Graduate School at Michigan State University (MSU) and James Madison College (JMC), are pleased to cosponsor an opportunity for graduate students to prepare for such work—the Interdisciplinary Inquiry and Teaching (IIT) Fellowship Program. Fellows are expected to commit approximately 10 hours monthly to the fellowship and will receive $5000 to help support project expenses and/or travel to a conference to share their findings.
