Graduate Students
The Student Affairs Administration (SAA) MA Program Graduate Assistantship is a 20-hour per week appointment with the Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE) unit of the Educational Administration Department (EAD) in MSU's College of Education. The SAA GA assists the SAA Program Coordinator with the following responsibilities:
- lead outreach, admissions, and recruitment programming (e.g., Spartan Preview Days and graduate assistantship interviews)
- plan and implement events supporting current students (e.g., practicum fair)
- communicate with constituents including prospective and current students, faculty, and MSU campus partners
- manage social media channels and create content
- organize and supervise committee of SAA MA graduate students
- other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications: Enrolled in a graduate program at Michigan State University for the 2024–2025 academic year (note: current Student Affairs Administration MA students are not eligible for this position); experience in outreach, admissions, and/or recruitment planning; skills in event planning and organization; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; excellent communication and organizational skills; dedication to creating inclusive environments that support bringing higher education closer to equity and justice.
Desired Qualifications: Enrolled as a 1st or 2nd year student in a Ph.D. graduate program at Michigan State University; knowledge of higher education administration in a U.S. context; experience in management & supervision; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, 365, and SharePoint; experience in communications and social media management; skilled in Canva (or other graphic design software) and MailChimp.
