Hiring: Communication Consultant, EY Communication Center

If you enjoy coaching people, helping future business leaders communicate with clarity and confidence, and leading by example in a collaborative, professional environment, you will love working in the EY Communication Center (EYCC). The EYCC is seeking two communication consultants to join our team for the 2026-27 academic year. The consultants will develop the professional communication skills of M.S. students in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems in the following areas: business writing, public speaking, teamwork, resume development, and interviewing.

Primary Duties: As a communication consultant, you will leverage your passion for and knowledge about professional communication to help people grow. In your work, you will provide coaching, feedback, and opportunities for students to practice polishing their communication skills in a way that leaves them motivated and inspired. As a result, students will enter the workforce as confident, collaborative, persuasive communicators. To accomplish this end, your primary duties would include the following:

  • Provide one-to-one and group consultations on a variety of communication services, including yet not limited to resume preparation, mock interviews, paper critiques, and presentation development, delivery, and reviews.
  • Evaluate written papers, oral presentations, and meetings for select courses.
  • Maintain database to track appointments, evaluations, and impact.
  • Develop and/or deliver communication workshops and guest lectures.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications: This important role requires people who will lead by example and transfer their vast expertise to others. Thus, communication consultants have the following qualifications:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Prior experience teaching writing and/or public speaking courses or tutoring others
  • Exceptional follow-thorough, attention to detail, and professionalism
  • Progress toward Master’s degree in communication, English, or related field (progress toward PhD preferred)
  • Ability to work 20 hours per week Mon. – Fri. with availability on select COM 875 days:
    • FS26 (Five Wednesday evenings from 5 – 7:50 p.m.)
    • SS27 (Five Monday and Five Tuesday evenings from 3 – 5:50 p.m.)

Compensation: Half-time G.A. appointment (i.e., stipend, nine graduate level credits per semester at the standard tuition rate, and health care benefits)

Commitment: 20 hours per week (Fall Semester 2026 and Spring Semester 2027)
