Award: $15,000 - $60,000
This program provides grants to institutions of higher education to fund fellowship awards to doctoral students who conduct research overseas in modern foreign languages and area studies for periods of 6 to 12 months.
Funding provides roundtrip travel expenses to and from the country or countries of research, maintenance and dependents allowances based on the cost of living in country(ies) of research for the fellow and their dependent(s), allowance for research-related expenses overseas, such as books and photocopying, tuition, affiliation fees, local travel, and other incidental expenses.
