Attention:
Graduate Students and Postdocs
Do you want to learn to communicate your science more effectively? Are you interested in learning how to write about science, develop exciting graphics about your work, or engage diverse audiences?
The fourth annual Communicating Science Workshop for Graduate Students and Postdocs (ComSciCon) in the Michigan region will take place virtually on the mornings of August 20th-22nd, 2021! The ComSciCon workshop series is designed to empower graduate students to communicate the complex and technical concepts that arise in research in science, engineering and other technical fields to broad and diverse audiences, beyond fellow practitioners in the field.
They have an exciting program of events planned! Attendees will network with fellow graduate student leaders and peers in science communication, produce original writing for publication, and learn from expert writers and communicators. Their keynote speaker is Dr. Mónica Feliú-Mójer! Among many other roles, she currently serves as the Director of Communications and Science Outreach for Ciencia Puerto Rico (CienciaPR), a non-profit and global community of more than 13,000 scientists, students, educators, and allies creating social impact in Puerto Rico and has been very active in this role in Puerto Rico during the COVID-19 pandemic. She will be presenting on principles and strategies of culturally relevant science communication.
