Activities at CSTAT to support MSU researchers and graduate students

Statistical support, collaborations, consultations on research projects and grant proposal development are continuing at CSTAT. Ask for a meeting via the regular online form “Schedule a meeting” https://cstat.msu.edu and we assign statisticians to get in touch (virtually).

The Walk-in R Helpdesk on Thursdays 4-6pm has been transformed to a virtual helpdesk via Zoom. Faculty and graduate students can click on this Zoom link https://msu.zoom.us/j/649667867 (same link each week, also available on the CSTAT website). If there are others online, there is a virtual “wait room” until the consultant can talk to you.

The CSTAT R Skills for Data Science certificate course started on Thursday as an online version with extra support (in addition to the instructor there is a chat room moderator who can answer participants’ questions, and there are screen recordings on several topics). For those wishing an in-person course, we hope to start a 5 week session mid-May. Dates TBD.

We are creating free online workshops/lectures to go over the Equator Network reporting guidelines for randomized trials (CONSORT), observational studies (STROBE), and systematic reviews (PRISMA) that a number of journals require when submitting papers.  Dates TBD.
