9th Annual Midwest Graduate Research Symposium on April 7, 2018

9th Annual Midwest Graduate Research Symposium

The University of Toledo Graduate Student Association (GSA) cordially invites students from Michigan State University to the 9th Annual Midwest Graduate Research Symposium (MGRS). Each year we are excited to provide this opportunity to talented graduate students across the country and are looking forward to April 7th, 2018. The 9th Annual MGRS will be held at the University of Toledo’s Memorial Field House and Student Union. This all-day, multi-disciplinary, multi-university symposium aims to foster intercollegiate relationships, collaboration, and professional development. Scheduled events include oral and poster presentations, professional development workshops, a Q&A session, an awards ceremony, and will end with dinner and a keynote address. Last year’s event included students and judges from 16 universities totaling close to 400 people in attendance.

Online registration is currently open and will be free to all students until March 10th, 2018. Interested graduate students should register as a presenter. We would also like to inform your students that Dr. Clinton O. Longenecker, a distinguished professor from University of Toledo’s College of Business and Innovation, will be the Keynote Speaker for the evening.  Due to growing interest, we are offering a limited number of registration spots for undergraduate students. This is a unique opportunity for mentorship, networking, and exposure to future research opportunities in many respected fields. The first 50 undergraduate students may register as an attendant.

This year’s symposium offers several competitive awards sponsored by the Toledo GSA and a variety of other organizations. Sponsors from last year included the AWIS award to honor the top women presenters in STEM-related research, the Sigma Xi award recognizing student excellence in scientific research, the Lake Erie Center award for student research in aquatic science and related fields, the Kappa Delta Pi Education award recognizing excellence in education-related research, among others.
