2022 Slavery to Freedom Lecture Series

The College of Osteopathic Medicine, with sponsorship from more than 30 units across Michigan State University and dozens of community partners, kicks off the 22nd annual Dr. William G. Speakers and Schedule

  • February 3: Dr. Yusef Salaam is member of The Exonerated Five, is an award-winning motivational and transformational speaker, thought leader, trainer, New York Times Best Selling author and coach.
  • February 17: Brandan “BMike” Odums is a New Orleans-based visual artist who, through exhibitions, public programs, and public art works, is engaged in a transnational dialogue about the intersection of art and resistance.
  • February 24: LaTosha Brown is the Co-founder of the Black Voters Matter Fund and the BVM Capacity Building Institute, fighting to ensure that all human beings have access to quality education, safety, security, peace, love, and happiness.
