2017 Sandell Grant and Dissertation Fellowship Programs

The Center for Retirement Research at Boston College announces the 2017 Sandell Grant Program and 2017 Dissertation Fellowship Program for research on retirement income and policy. These programs are funded by the U.S. Social Security Administration.

2017 Steven H. Sandell Grant Program

  • The Sandell Program provides the opportunity for junior scholars and senior scholars working in a new area to pursue projects on retirement income and policy. The program is open to scholars in all academic disciplines. 
  • Up to five grants of $45,000 will be awarded for one-year projects.
  • The submission deadline for grant proposals is January 31, 2017. Grant award recipients will be announced by April 2017.
  • The proposal guidelines are available online.

2017 Dissertation Fellowship Program

  • The Dissertation Fellowships support doctoral candidates writing dissertations on retirement income and policy. The program is open to scholars in all academic disciplines.
  • Up to five fellowships of $28,000 will be awarded.
  • The submission deadline for proposals is January 31, 2017. Award recipients will be announced by April 2017.
  • The proposal guidelines are available online.
