Neil Carter was interviewed while finishing his PhD in fisheries and wildlife as a University Distinguished Fellow. Prior to coming to MSU, he received his BS in ecology, behavior and evolution from the University of California - San Diego and his MS from the University of Michigan. He's previously researched black bears in Michigan. At MSU's Center for Systems Integration and Sustainability he has studied the relationship between people and tigers in Nepal. MSU's nationally and internationally strong programming in animal conservation is what attracted him to study in East Lansing.
