MSU requires that new graduate students have earned the equivalent of a 4-year bachelor's degree (see Academic Programs). If the prospective student does not hold a 4-year bachelor's degree, they must demonstrate that they hold the equivalent. Units should first consult with MSU’s Senior International Credential Analyst before submitting a 4-year degree waiver request via email to The Graduate School. Once submitted, these requests are reviewed on an individual basis. Please include as much relevant information with your waiver request as possible, such as: official transcripts, work experience, test scores, etc. The request must be approved at the department and college level prior to being sent to the Graduate School. Once the request is approved at the department and college level, it should be sent to approvals@grd.msu.edu. Please include any admissions deadlines with your request.
