Internships are not a standard part of Ph.D. training, but they are a chance to apply your Ph.D.-level skills in a new setting and test ou the waters, especially if you are thinking of moving into a non-academic position after completing your studies or postdoc position. They give you the opportunity to participate in meaningful projects, learn new skills, understand workplace norms and expectations, network, and provide value to a potential employer.

All these activities can help you to assess whether a possible new career area engages you, and provides you with meaningful experience to include on your resume and discuss in a job interview.  This workshop will encourage your involvement in internships and provide guidance step-by-step on possible opportunities. These include knowing what you want to do, identifying and researching employers, informational interviewing, and networking.

Registration is required. Registration period is 11/4 - 12/3/18.
