Dr. Marsha Matyas of the American Physiological Society

As Education Director for the American Physiological Society (APS), Dr. Marsha Matyas got to experience many dimensions of working for a professional society. The APS is a non-profit organization that publishes journals which cover the entire spectrum of physiology, ranging from cellular, molecular, and organ to system levels.

APS is dedicated to the advancement of physiological research and its journals meet the needs of research investigators, educators, and information specialists who are interested in the physiological sciences. Prior to joining the APS, she was a Program Office at the National Science Foundation and Director of Projects for the AAAS. She has a Ph.D. in Biology Education and a M.S. in Cell Biology, both from Purdue University. 

This is a chance to ask questions about the field of science publishing, science advocacy and policy, and professional development for scientists. 

Lunch at 11:30: Talk starts at 12:00 p.m. until 1 p.m.

Registration is required. Registration period is 2/12 - 2/16/19, or until full.
