In this presentation participants will learn practical tips for teaching as a foreigner in the United States, including becoming familiar with the American university system as it relates to teaching, feeling prepared to teach as a foreigner, and managing teaching time and relationships with students.
Nathalie Marinho is currently a School Psychology PhD student and an international Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in the department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Special Education in the College of Education at Michigan State University. She conducts research on English learners and is passionate about teaching and helping other international GTAs navigate instruction for college students in the USA.
