Generative AI has significantly impacted how instructors create and assess student work. Join us as we examine how we can strategically design assignments to support student learning. We will consider strategies for supporting responsible use of AI tools that encourage original thinking and authentic student work. We will also discuss some of the best practices for fostering a culture of integrity and accountability with your students.
Facilitator: Sarah Beal, PhD (she/her) is the Educational Specialist at Otterbein University. Sarah’s teaching focuses on designing student-centered learning environments that are active and inclusive. She is interested in incorporating gamification and game-design principles into the classroom as well as engaging with alternative grading approaches. She also has expertise in educational technologies, hybrid pedagogies, and GenAI. Sarah holds a PhD in Classical Archaeology from the University of Cincinnati, where she studied the dining practices in the city of Athens during the mid-3rd century CE.
