Dana K. Voelker studied kinesiology as a University Distinguished Fellow at Michigan State University, obtaining her PhD in 2012
after studying with Daniel Gould, PhD. Her research focused on youth athletic leadership, eating attitudes and behaviors in athletes,
and positive youth development through her involvement with the Institute for the Study of Youth Sports in the College of Education
Department of Kinesiology. A former competitive figure skater and ice hockey player, Dana hopes to continue to work with youth athletes
in these and other sports. Prior to beginning her PhD program at MSU she obtained a BA in psychology from Pennsylvania
State University in 2007, and an MA in counseling from MSU in 2010. After her graduation, Dana worked to continue her research
and teaching career as a tenure-track faculty member The College at Brockport, State University of New York.
