Applicants can be Michigan State University graduate students in any discipline. This fellowship will not be based on test scores or grade point averages, but rather the individual's commitment to fighting society's "isms" - including sexism, racism, and ageism.
The recipient will invest his or her enhanced social capital to evoke positive action and changes in the community.
The award will be disbursed for fall semester, and the recipient must be enrolled in that semester. Each fellowship recipient is required to express acceptance and appreciation of the award in writing within two weeks of notification of the award.
