Background
This fellowship will allow a graduate student to draft research manuscripts and research proposals while gaining hands-on experience in scholarly writing, literature synthesis, data interpretation, and the preparation of grant-ready research documents, as well as possibly other research activities designated by the supervisor. Dr. ChengChing Hiya Liu will supervise the graduate student.
This fellowship can be completed remotely with weekly online meetings and involves a commitment of 20 hours per week for a $9,000 award with the College of Nursing faculty.
Eligibility
- MSU graduate student in good standing who will be enrolled in the Spring 2026 and Summer 2026.
- Graduate student interested in research writing and scholarly publication who is willing to learn grant development, systematic literature review methods, and manuscript preparation processes quickly.

The deadline for submission is January 30, 2026. The nurse scientist supervising this position and potentially other team members will review your submitted information. We may also ask for letters of recommendation.
Funding of the Award
The award amount for February 9, 2026, to June 30, 2026 is $9,000.
