Flipped classrooms and active learning are buzz terms around innovative education. Yet, active learning strategies, particularly the flipped classroom model, also face a notable degree of skepticism and concerns about a reliance on technology and high start-up costs for educators. In this lounge, we’ll shed light on how these challenges can be mitigated and how active learning, including the flipped classroom model, can be implemented into classrooms by TAs, post-docs, or future faculty in order to encourage light-bulb, aha! moments for students.
