Travel
Special Note for Employment Abroad
If your international travel is a required component of your MSU employment, the Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OHSA) (http://www.osha.gov/) requires employers to cover the costs of travel vaccinations or prophylaxis medicines recommended by the MSU Travel Clinic (http://travelclinic.msu.edu/), which follows international guidelines. The cost of personal protective items, such as insect repellents, mosquito netting, masks, or gloves, may also be covered.
If an employee contracted an illness or suffered an injury in the course of their duties abroad, the traveler may qualify for Workers Compensation (http://www.lir.msu.edu/wcc/index.html).
