Education Opportunity Fellowship (EOF)
To be eligible for this fellowship, EOF applicants must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident of the United States. (Preference will be given to State of Michigan residents).
- Demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
- Have a minimum undergraduate federal indebtedness of $20,000, both as determined by the MSU Office of Financial Aid. Exact awards will vary depending on need.
- Enroll in and earn six or more graduate credits per semester or earn three credits for the summer semester (unless otherwise authorized by the student’s college or department/school). Failure to enroll for six or more graduate credits per semester (three credits for summer semester) will result in a cancellation of the EOF award for the semester.
- Meet the minimum academic standards of the university and make satisfactory academic progress as defined by the college, and the department/school in which the student is enrolled.
- Hold no full-time position during the time he/she is receiving this fellowship. Be graduating either summer or fall semester of the same year in order to be eligible to receive the EOF award for the summer semester of that same year.
Students must be in good academic standing meeting department, college, and university standards. Enrollment requirements include a minimum of 6 credits each semester. Applications are currently available for the next academic year and must be returned by April 15, 2012 for consideration. Applications must be renewed each year. Funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until all are disbursed so it is in your best interest to submit your application as soon as possible. You may submit your application before your FASFA is completed, but it must be completed and on-file by the April 15 due date.

Unlike graduate assistantships, this fellowship does not include student health insurance or tuition/fee waivers.
