Paper Applications
Michigan State University encourages the use of the online application through the Office of Admissions.
If you are unable to access the online application, please contact The Graduate School via email gradschool@grd.msu.edu to check on the availability of a paper application.
Make sure you send your application, payment, and all supporting documentation to the department to which you are applying. There is a list of departments and programs (with major codes and contact information) on our website at: http://grad.msu.edu/departments/

Recommendation for Admission (Letter of Recommendation)
Some departments at Michigan State University use Embark for electronic submission of letters of recommendation. After an applicant submits an online Graduate application to MSU, and if the department is using Embark, the applicant will receive a link to MSU's Embark system. If not submitted electronically, letters of recommendation must be signed and sealed in envelopes and sent to the department/program to which the applicant is applying. If your department uses a different letter of recommendation form, please use that one.
