Please view our sample "video vignette" selection, a video which depicts key issues of interest to graduate students and faculty. We use these vignettes as a tool to explore the substance of the issues as reflected in the vignette, as well as for the use of interest-based approaches in crafting creative solutions. These vignettes assist us in facilitating discussion around the issues in graduate education. To try this, follow these steps:
  • Identify the issues in the situation
  • What expectations were stated?
  • Who are the parties involved?
  • What are the individual interests of each party?
  • Identify the range of possible options
  • Determine mutually agreeable options
By going through these steps, you are using an interest-based approach to determine outcomes and resolve conflicts. Come back soon to see a new vignette!
